EXMA is a platform specialized in providing news and maintaining up-to-date knowledge for the marketing industry. At its recent event, "EXMA Colombia 2019," BMI Academy had the opportunity to attend high-level talks with the winners of the Business Skills School, held on May 28 and 29 at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá. We share more about this event, which brought together speakers such as Andy Stalman and Arnaldo Muñoz, along with personalities such as Daniel Habif, Carlos Vives, and Barack Obama.

Under the theme of the power of the creative economy, the hundreds of attendees at EXMA Colombia 2019 had the opportunity to share knowledge and enhance their skills on new marketing trends, the digital world, user experience, the challenges of the current technological revolution, and the future of marketing. This was especially true for the winners of the Commercial Skills School and the BMI team, who took advantage of the content of these talks to enrich and boost their professional performance.

Ideas to change the world

At this edition of EXMA, the focus was on a key point: the transformation of today's consumers into more demanding ones and the need to contribute to the economies of developing countries through ideas.

With its participation in six Latin American countries, including Ecuador, EXMA seeks to empower the continent's creative minds to transform their societies, becoming real, global agents of change.

Due to the nature of their speakers, the talks that most intrigued the audience were those of Daniel Habif, who discussed what to do to change internally and take action; Carlos Vives, who shared reflections on Colombian culture; and Barack Obama, who focused his talk on positive leadership and developing multiple perspectives to find solutions to crises.

The former US president's speech was undoubtedly the most anticipated of the two days. We share an excerpt from it about the need for support and teamwork to achieve results:

“Very few people achieve great things alone. Even those we consider geniuses, like Picasso, who worked with Braque, for example.”

At BMI Academy, we believe that the dissemination and acquisition of knowledge, collaborative work, and a spirit of innovation are the pillars that, in turn, make an organization more humane and successfully achieve its goals. Participating in these events allows us to foster an open mindset, willing to listen to ideas in order to transform and adapt them to our reality, thereby fostering social change.
